Most of what we sell is built after you order it rather than pulled off a shelf. Now that ordering online is open, allow about 7 to 10 business days to build and pack your order once it's confirmed. Are the panels sealed or primed?
Our panels arrive as natural, unprimed, and unsealed wood, giving you the choice to paint directly or prepare the surface.
Why use wood filler?
Wood filler helps level small gaps and natural surface variations before sanding. Apply it where needed, let it dry, then sand smooth.
Should I use wood glue before gesso?
Wood glue is not needed. If you would like to seal the panel before gesso, use a wood sealer.
Can I paint directly on the wood?
Yes. Our panels can be painted directly. Gesso is optional and provides a more uniform surface.
How do I prepare and gesso the panel?
Gesso is optional. Use these steps if you want a prepared surface.
- Seal the panel, if desired, using a wood sealer.
- Sand the surface smooth and remove the dust.
- Apply gesso in thin, even coats.
- For a smooth surface, apply the gesso with a paintbrush.
- For a rough surface, apply the gesso with a paint roller.
