For work that calls for real depth, our Deep Cradled Birch Panel builds a substantial 6 mm birch face into a bold 1¾″ galerie frame, where extra ply and cradle depth give it exceptional rigidity, even at large formats.
Larger sizes are reinforced with a cross bar or middle bar as needed. Left in its natural state, ready to work on straight out of the box. Handmade in Canada since 1967.

Wood Panel FAQ
Are the wood panels pre-sealed?
No. Our wood panels are supplied as natural, unsealed wood.
How should I prepare a panel for painting?
Apply a thin coat of wood sealer and let it dry. Lightly sand the surface, remove the dust, then apply gesso.
Do I need wood glue before gesso?
No. Use a wood sealer, not wood glue, before sanding and applying gesso.
Can I paint directly on the wood?
Some media can be applied directly. For oil painting or when archival preparation matters, seal, sand, and gesso the panel first.
